Barbara Wheeler is an Australian textile and fibre artist creating works that express her deep connection to nature.  Her practice sits at the intersection of traditional craft, contemporary design and social change.

From 2016 to 2019 etc clothing designs were slowly handcrafted in Canberra and Barbara ran many workshops for those who wanted to learn about botanical dyeing and printing.   

 

Innovative basketry objects and wearables, repurposed textiles and garments, and assemblages from found objects are some of the new directions for her work.

 

Barbara lives in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
